What High Agency means?
What is Agency?
"If you wait for someone else to make the roadmap you're ngmi"
Agency is the difference between letting life happen to you and making life bend to your will. It's about owning your choices and outcomes, no matter how shitty the circumstances are.
IMO Agency is closely related to concepts of stoicism, focusing on your circle of concern things that are in your control and pro actively working on them.
Do You Have Agency?
If you lack agency, you're the person who sits around waiting for permission, blaming the system, your teachers, bad luck, or the economy for why you're stuck.
The Truth About Agency
Here's the brutal truth about agency: No one's coming to save you. If you're stuck, it's on you to get unstuck. If you're waiting for the "right time" or someone to tell you what to do, you've already lost. Complaining is easy. Building, fixing, and creating solutions is hard. Agency is doing the hard thing.
High Agency Principles
High-agency is simple (not easy):
- Take responsibility for everything in your control, even when it feels unfair
- Stop waiting for permission
- If there's a door, open it
- Accept that failure and rejection will happen – but learn fast and move forward
"It's not about privilege, intelligence, or luck. It's about deciding that no matter what, you're going to make it happen."
